Red Fish are hearty and full of stamina. These fish can really rip off some drag. Catching them year around is pretty consistent, using for bait shrimp, shiners, cut bait or artificial. They've even been know to bite a bare hook if in a frenzy.
I can honestly say there's not a bad time to catch Red Fish. I've caught them in the dear of winter to the middle of summer and even during a tropical storm! Yes, Captain Kris was out in a small storm and the fish were going nuts. Quite the experience! We would wait for the storm to stop raining and get right back after those Red Fish.
